Muster Day:
Under the militia act of 1792, every able-bodied citizen between the ages of 18 and 45 was a member of the militia. Muster day accomplished actual enrollment of the members. They had during the year at different times, a company, a battalion and a general muster. A company muster was a drilling of the members of one company; a battalion muster consisted in the drilling of the companies of one-half a county; and a general muster was the meeting of all the companies of a county.
