"...the people of Texas do now constitute a free, Sovereign, and independent republic..."
- from the Texas Declaration of Independence, 2 March 1836
All of the presenters were great. I want to thank Paula Perkins Parke, Lawrence E. Oliver, Kimm Antell, Mary Duke, and Joe Deaver for doing such a great job.
Kimm and Winnie were great in helping plan the meeting and work through a few little problems that we had. Next year should be even better.
We discussed some ideas for classes next year, a date and place. The first request for the meeting was Hawaii and let David pay our way there. :-)
But reality set in and the consensus was to have the next meeting in Dallas. We are also going back to the month of April when it isn't quite so hot. Requests were made for a tour of the Dallas Library on the Friday before the meeting. I am going to the Dallas Library Thursday morning so I will talk to Lloyd about the tour and having the meeting there. The exact date depends on when the Dallas Genealogical Society has their spring workshop scheduled and Father's Day. Hopefully I can get it scheduled and on the calendar Thursday so we will know almost a year in advance.
If you have ideas for workshops or would like to do a workshop, please let me know.
