January Roll Call begins the 1st.  We hope everyone had a very safe and happy New Year!  Don't forget to check in with either Shirley Cullum or Elaine Martin to let us know you are still willing to be a TXGenWeb member!   Don't forget we have a few orphans that need a home for the new year. Bexar & Cameron County became available as Nan Starjak resigned due to personal reasons. Gina Heffernan adopted Armstrong County; Nancy Hickman adopted Gonzales County; - Thanks Gina & Nancy! If you are interested in being CC for Bexar, Cameron, Hidalgo, Hill, or Upton county, please let Shirley know.

February starts off with a bang. We welcomed Jason Smith as a new member. He has taken Bowie & Marion counties. We hope he enjoys being a member of our family. Several counties were given up and adopted. Betty Phillips & Betty Miller took Rains County; Jimmy Epperson took Bexar County; Linda Simpson took Upton County; and Jevette Burciaga took Harrison County. We still have 3 counties available for adoption, so if you are interested in Cameron, Hidalgo, or Hill county, please contact Shirley.

March brings a bit warmer weather & less snow.  Hope everyone enjoyed the white scenery that we so seldom get to see.  Shirley called for a poll on a possible grievance committee.  After a month of CCs discussing it, and the grievance process was fine tuned, it passed by a vote of 40-4.  The new grievance committee rules were placed on the rules page.

April is roll call month, but due to the CC poll on grievances, roll call was not necessary and was called off.  Normal roll call will resume July 1. Once again it is TXGenWeb annual meeting time!  A good time was had by all that attended.  Bill & Kathy Tye did a great job with the cookbooks.  If you would like to purchase one of the TXGenWeb Cookbooks, please contact Bill Tye or Shirley Cullum.  Sadly we say goodbye to Lola Withrow who has resigned due to health issues.  Lola was a valuable member for a long time and will be missed. After many years of service, Dana Thomas has resigned.  Elaine Martin now has Cass County and Sharon Pierce rejoined the ranks as Co-CC.  Shirley called for a vote on Carla Clifton being the Grievance Coordinator.  It was unanimous and she is now the Grievance Coordinator.  Hip Hip Hooray!  All counties are now adopted and have good homes!  Teresa Stewart has adopted Cameron County & Hidalgo County and Kim Antell has adopted Hardeman County.  Please welcome Patsy Vinson as a new TXGenWeb member.  She has adopted Hill County.  Welcome aboard Patsy!

May begins with us losing a team member.  We are sad to say goodbye to Helen Bassett.  Teresa Stewart has graciously taken in Hopkins County, which leaves Fisher County homeless. Also after 12 years with TXGenWeb, Terry Jenkins with Runnels County has retired.  Thanks for all you have done Terry!  If you are interested in Fisher or Runnels County, please contact Shirley.

June marks summer being officially here.  Everyone try & stay cool.  The month kicked off with a discussion about TXGenWeb joining the ranks of Twitter, Facebook, RSS Feeds, Podcasting, etc.  We already had a members only Facebook page, and added one for the general public.  The other ones are still under discussion.  Give a warm welcome to the new CC for Fisher and for Runnels County, Jane Colmenares.  Only 1 county, Motley, still needs a home. 

Once again it is roll call time.  Be sure to answer the roll call message as soon aas you can.  We value you as a member of the TXGenWeb family and would hate to have to say goodbye to you. Tina Vickery resigned due to health issues, so we sadly say goodbye to her, which leaves Motley County available.  But not for long.  Thanks to Jane Colmenares for adopting Motley County, which means there are no counties available for adoption.  It is nice to see all 254 counties taken care of!  We welcome a new member, Gene Uzzle.  Gene will be Co-CC with Marylee Knight for Panola County.  Welcome aboard Gene!
